SYNOPSIS A young English couple, Mary and Colin, go on holiday to Venice to try to patch up their
failing relationship. They meet Robert, a rich Venetian gentleman who runs a bar as a hobby,
and his wife, Caroline, who is disabled. Despite finding the older couple disagreeable, Mary
and Colin gradually fall under their influence. In a final meeting, Mary is drugged and Colin
killed. The police capture and interrogate Robert.
